CONDUCTIVE FOAM & FABRIC OVER FOAM I/O GASKETS

To compliment Border Precisions Conductive fabric wrapped gaskets we can also supply I/O Backplane gaskets to effectively shield the various multiple connectors and diverse configurations found on these panel Inputs and Outlets. These can be supplied made from laminated Conductive foams or Conductive fabric wrapped over polyurethane foam.
- Metal Mesh/Conductive Foam/ Conductive Fibre laminated construction - providing excellent shielding effectiveness and 'X', 'Y' & 'Z' conductivity.
These types of gaskets are easily compressed, user friendly, and have high level of flame resistance and are able to operate at higher frequencies since there is no gaps in their construction.
Various conductive wrapping materials are available to suit your requirements:
- Nickel/Copper/Nickel plated – excellent shielding effectiveness and anti tarnish
- Carbon/Nickel/Copper/Nickel plated - providing good levels of waterproofing
- Gold plated – Excellent conductive and premium shielding performance levels
- Aluminium Foil – low cost alternative with good thermal dissipation properties
Conductive fabric used is based on a polyester textile yarn, which is uniformly plated to give low levels of resistivity (high conductivity). This ensures that this RFI/EMC gasket type provides good mechanical wear properties where wiping actions occur in operational use. Laminated conductive foam (I/O) gaskets also provide similar advantages:
- Easily compressed in operation
- Very high shielding performance – typically 60 – 100dB
- Excellent mechanical wear properties
- Minimal compression set
- Easily mounted using pressure sensitive adhesive backed tapes
- Available in a very wide range of profiles/cross-section and sizes
- Non flammable to UL94-V0 and HB certified
- RoHs compliant
